
MUNCY — The No. 7 seeded Williamson Lady Warriors are set to visit Muncy to take on the second seeded Lady Indians in the quarterfinals of the District IV 2A girls basketball playoffs on Tuesday.
Muncy finished the regular season 17-4. Their losses came to North Penn-Mansfield by a score of 43-39 in the season’s first game, to 4A Milton (13-9), to NTL Small School champ Northeast Bradford by a point .. 42-41 .. and to 4A Lewisburg (17-5).
Williamson enters the playoffs with a 7-14 record, having beaten Galeton (0-22) twice, Sayre (2-20) twice, Montgomery (3-19) twice and North Penn-Liberty (9-13).
The Lady Warriors average just under 38 points per game, led by senior Olivia Meisner at 10.5 ppg and junior Kenna Thomas at 9.8 ppg. Thomas (8.8) and Meisner (7.8) also lead the team in rebounding. Senior Madisen Jones adds 5.8 points, 2.7 assists and 3.1 steals per game.
Williamson gives up 44 points per contest .. 54 per game in their losses.
With a win in the quarterfinals, Williamson would advance to the semis and face the winner between No. 3 seed Northwest Area (18-4) and No. 6 Cowanesque Valley (8-13).
