
LIBERTY — NTL Small School champ and Class A top seed North Penn-Liberty starts their post season run on Tuesday when they host No. 8 seed Millville (3-18) at 7 p.m. in the first round of the District IV playoffs.
The Mounties finished the regular season with a 15-8 overall record, including an 8-2 mark in the small school division and a 12-5 record in the league.
Liberty scores 61 points per game, led by a quartet of double-digit scorers in Adynn Wheeland (12.7 ppg), Luke Kreger (11.7), Louis Mercantino (10.9 ppg) and Evan McTish (10.3 ppg).
Fifth starter Blake Oakley scores 9 points per game and adds 6.2 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1.5 blocks per game.
McTish grabs 9.3 boards per game while Mercantino (35), Wheeland (34) and Kreger (31) lead the Mounties in 3-pointers made.
Millville went 3-18 .. having won their first three games of the season and losing 18 straight. They averaged less than 42 points per game.
The Quakers beat Juniata Christian (0-14), Benton (1-20) and CMVT (4-16). They also lost to CMVT and gave Benton their lone win of the season.
With a win, Liberty will play the winner between No. 4 seed Bucktail (10-11) and No. 5 seed Northumberland Christian (8-8).
The other half of the bracket features No. 2 seed Sullivan County (12-10) against No. 7 Galeton (5-17) and No. 3 seed Meadowbrook Christian (9-7) vs. No. 6 Lourdes Regional (6-16).
