
MANSFIELD — North Penn-Liberty used timely hitting and 14 strikeouts from junior Elyna Booth to top the visiting Wyalusing Lady Rams 9-2 in the Lady Mounties’ season and home opener here Tuesday.
Booth, making her varsity debut, went the complete game and scattered five hits and five walks while allowing one earned run to the Rams.
Sophomore Claire Dominick and junior Haley Litzelman led Liberty at the plate with two base hits each, with Dominick collecting a double and driving in four runs and Litzelman with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.
Sophomore Maddie Smith had a base hit and scored two runs, junior Gabby Parsons had a hit and scored once, senior Addie Smith walked three times and scored three runs and senior Kaylee Graham scored the Mounties’ remaining run.
North Penn-Liberty (1-0) will return to action Wednesday when they host Wellsboro.
