
WESTFIELD — Cowanesque Valley fell behind the visiting Northeast Bradford Lady Panthers early and couldn’t catch up, falling 13-2 in their softball opener here Tuesday.
Northeast Bradford scored three first inning runs, added two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings and ended the game early with four runs in the sixth.
CV scored single runs in the first and third innings.
Ella Churchill and Zeraya Wilson each had two base hits and scored a run, with one of Churchill’s hits being a triple.
Laynie LaBarron had a hit and Ashley Woodring had a double and an RBI.
Woodring threw all six innings for the Lady Indians, allowing 13 runs .. 12 earned .. on 13 hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.
CV (0-1) is scheduled to return to play on Saturday at Canton.
