NTL TRACK & FIELD: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD BOYS AND GIRLS OPEN SEASON WITH WINS AT SAYRE (2025-03-26)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
SAYRE — The North Penn-Mansfield track and field teams opened their season at Sayre on Tuesday, where the boys won 113-27 and the girls won 104-30.

On the track. The Lady Tigers had a double-winner in Maryn McCarthy, who won the 400 (1:08.2) and the 3200 (16:06.0), while two Mansfield athletes won two events each  in the field .. Nora Furry in the triple jump (30-02) and the high jump (4-04) and Iris Irwin in the discus (72-09) and the javelin (53-08).

Anna Kennedy (13.3) won the 100 meter dash and Carolyn Cherwinski (14.7) while Gabby Bubeck (29.0) was 2nd in the 200 and Cherwinski (32.5) was 3rd.

Brooke Wilcox (1:12.5) was 2nd in the 400 and Abaigeal Garverick (1:17.3) was 3rd while Kara Barrett (3:08.3) won the 800, Alivia Lisowski (3:12.0) was 2nd and Moira Wheeler (3:17.4) was 3rd. 

Lisowski (7:02.2) won the 1600 and Wheeler (7:07.4) was 2nd while Furry was 2nd in both the 100 meter hurdles (19.8) and the 300 hurdles (1:03.1) and Abigail Hazelton (22.6) was 3rd in the 100 hurdles.

Wilcox (15-05) won the long jump with Cherwinski taking 2nd (14-08) and Madilynn Scott was 3rd (14-05) while Scott was 2nd (30-00) in the triple jump and Wheeler (4-00) was 2nd in the high jump.

Irwin was 2nd 72-09) in the discus while Olivia Saunders was 3rd in the shot put (19-08), the discus (56-03) and the javelin (50-05).

On the boys side, Brady Stetter won two events on the track .. the 110 meter hurdles (19.1) and the 300 hurdles (47.4) .. and Tayton Strange won the triple jump (35-08) and tied for 1st in the high jump (5-10) with Luke Kreger. Colton Pellett was 3rd (5-02) in the high jump and Truman Laudenslager was 2nd in the triple (34-07).  

Brayden Johnson won the 200 meter dash (23.8) while Luke Tice was 2nd (25.4) and Johnson was 2nd in the 100 (11.7) with Kaiden Pellett taking 3rd (12.6).

Braden VanLoon won the 800 (2:24.3) with Peter Bishop placing 2nd (2:25.6) and Bryce Kent in 3rd (2:26.1) while Bishop won the 1600 (5:19.5) and Mason Forer was 2nd (5:29.3).

Forer won the 3200 (12:16.9) while Isaiah VanLoon was 2nd (12:31.4) and Alexander Mahosky was 3rd (12:28.7), Sudan Benner was 2nd in the 400 (52.7) and Cedric Miller was 3rd (54.8), Laudenslager was 2nd in the 110 hurdles (20.5) and Asher York was 3rd in the 300 hurdles (55.2).

Johnson won the long jump (20-03) and Stetter placed 2nd (18-01), while Brody Grinnell won the javelin (121-05) with Landon House taking 2nd (92-07).

Stetter was 2nd in the shot put (33-03) with House placing 3rd (32-03) and House took 2nd in the discus (75-03) with Caden Prisbey taking 3rd (64-06).

The North Penn-Mansfield teams are scheduled to visit Wyalusing on Tuesday for a tri-meet with Towanda.
