ROME — Cowanesque Valley dropped below .500 on the season as they were edged 2-1 by NTL small school foe Northeast Bradford here Tuesday.
After four scoreless innings, the Lady Indians got on the board in the top of the fifth inning when Zeraya Wilson singled and would score on a Northeast Bradford error after Raegan Watson reached base on a single.
The Lady Panthers answered in the bottom half of the fifth, tying the game at 1-all on a CV passed ball. Northeast Bradford scored the eventual game-winner in the bottom of the sixth and CV couldn’t answer.
Watson finished with two of CV’s five base hits in the game while Wilson, Lilah LaBarron and Ella Churchill each had a hit.
LaBarron went the distance to take the loss, throwing six innings and allowing two unearned runs on five base hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
Now 3-4 on the season, Cowanesque Valley is next scheduled to host Northern Potter, on Thursday.
