HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD: WELLSBORO BOYS PLACE 2ND AT MU'S MOLLY DRY INVITE, LADY HORNETS 3RD (2025-04-17)

MANSFIELD — The Wellsboro boys Track & Field team had three event winners and finished in second place at Mansfield University’s Molly Dry Invite, while the Lady Hornets won five golds and placed third.

The boys scored 122 points, behind only team champ Hughesville’s 201.

Micaiah Fitch won the long jump (19-6.75), Jonathan Carl won the 400m (52.08) and David Seeling won the high jump (5-10) to give the Hornets three champs on the day. Fitch placed third in the triple jump (39-10.25), where Carl was fifth (38-7.25), Seeling finished sixth in the 110m hurdles (17.67) and Carl was sixth in the 100m dash (11.87).

Micah Vickery placed second in the 110m hurdles (16.19) and third in the high jump (5-6), while Max Macias was the runner-up in the 3200m run (10:35.38) and third in the 1600m (4:45.82) and Gabriel Carpenter was third in the pole vault (10-6).

Henry Whitney was fifth in the 3200m (11:04.81) and seventh in the 1600m (4:55.18), Aaron Kirk finished sixth in the 400m (55.59) where Jacob Baldwin was eighth (57.63), Jacob Smith was seventh in the javelin (112-7), Jude Cuneo was eighth in the 800m run (2:09.80), Jacoby Strang finished eighth in the 100m dash (11.95) and Emmanuel Posada was eighth in the long jump (17-11.75).

The Lady Hornets scored 127.5 points on the day, behind only winner Hughesville (152) and runner-up Jersey Shore (149).

Piper Hoprich and Annie Gehman each won two events .. Hoprich the 100m (12.44) and 200m (25.77) dashes and Gehman the long (15-9.75) and triple (33-7) jumps, while Elise Largey won the pole vault (7-0).

Gehman was the runner-up in the high jump (4-10) while Lauren Kosek was second in both the 1600m (5:15.97) and the 3200m (11:25.61) and Isla Twoey was second in the long jump (15-5). 

Megan Mosher finished fourth in the pole vault (7-0), Kristina Belz was fifth in the long jump (14-11.75), Karah Blackwell finished sixth in the 2000m steeplechase (11:27.15), Luna Moyer was sixth in the 100m (13.42), Paige Logsdon was sixth in the javelin (79-10) and seventh in the discus (81-11), Ella Boyce was seventh in the triple jump (29-11.25), Sophia Yoder was eighth in the 200m (28.88), Belz was eighth in the high jump (4-4) and Reese Regina was eighth in the javelin (78-5.50).
