Horseheads senior Caitlin Yearick put up better numbers last week than most softball players will this season, while her classmate Mason Holloway was perfect again. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending May 3.
HORSEHEADS' YEARICK NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Yearick posted an incredible week at the plate, hitting .579 (11 hits in 19 ABs) with six home runs, two doubles, 14 runs scored, and 17 RBI to help Horseheads to a 5-0 week, including a co-championship at the Mirabito Tournament.
Yearick was the MVP of the Mirabito Tournament with five home runs in three games.

HORSEHEADS' HOLLOWAY NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Holloway threw his second perfect game of the season in a 1-0 win over Elmira. He fanned 15.
Holloway also started a game in a combined perfect earlier this season. (According to MaxPreps the national record for perfect games in a season is three.)
Holloway also had a 3-for-4 day with a double, a triple, three RBI and a run scored against Ithaca. He had five hits, four RBI and two runs scored at the plate on the week.
