WESTFIELD — The Lady Indians had a three game win streak snapped and dipped below .500 on the season, suffering a lopsided 19-3 loss to 14-1 Athens Thursday.
CV scored single runs in the first, third and seventh innings while Athens scored three runs to open the game, a run in the third, a run in the fifth, three in the sixth and 11 in the top of the seventh inning.
Ashley Woodring started for CV and pitched seven innings, allowing 10 runs (6 earned) on 11 Athens’ base hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Lilah LaBarron started the seventh inning but was unable to record an out after giving up nine earned runs on a hit and four walks. Woodring re-entered to relieve LaBarron.
At the plate, Woodring had two base hits, including a double, and had an RBI. Zeraya Wilson had a triple and scored all three of CV’s runs, Raegan Watson had a hit and two RBI and Ella Churchill had two base hits.
CV (7-8) is scheduled to visit Towanda on Monday.
