NTL BASEBALL: CV ROUTED BY TROY IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE (2025-05-14)

WESTFIELD —In their final regular season game here Wednesday, CV was one-hit by Troy and fell 15-1 in five innings.

Troy scored nine runs in the first inning and the Indians held the Trojans off the board until a six-run fifth. 

CV scored their lone run of the game in the fourth inning when Ayren Morgan broke up the Trojans’ no-hit bid with a single and later stole home. 

The Indians used four pitchers in the loss. Levi Stahli started and lasted one inning, giving up nine runs (3 earned) on six hits and a walk. Morgan threw three innings, allowing no runs on one hit and a walk with five strikeouts. Danny Smith allowed five runs (3 earned) on three hits and a walk and Dave Hess went one inning, allowing one hit with two K’s.

The Indians finish the regular season with a record of 13-4 overall and claim the small school title with an 8-4 league mark while going 6-0 in the NTL-II. They’ll be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming District 4 Class A playoffs.
