COLLEGE BASEBALL: WELLSBORO'S CADEN SMITH LEADS ROBERT MORRIS CLUB TO WORLD SERIES (2025-05-31)

MOON TWP, PA — Former Wellsboro standout Caden Smith enjoyed a successful freshman season as a member of the Robert Morris club baseball team, leading the Colonials to the NCBA World Series.

Smith’s team went 16-12 on the year and won the District III title over Saginaw Valley (MI), where the freshman shortstop was named the national Player of the Week after going 8-for-11 with two doubles, 5 RBIs, and 4 runs scored for the Colonials.

Robert Morris, which doesn’t field a varsity baseball team, finished as the World Series runner-up to Division 3 champ Craven CC out of North Carolina and Smith ended his first season leading the Colonials with a .450 batting average (27-for-60), a .542 on-base-percentage, 14 RBI, 16 runs scored and six stolen bases.
