Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — The Southern Tioga (Breon) junior baseball team claimed the PA District 15 title on Wednesday, avenging their only loss of the tournament by topping Athens for the second straight game, 11-1.
ST went 2-1 in pool play, falling to Athens and beating Canton 14-4 and Southern Tioga (Brant) 12-2.
In bracket play, Southern Toga beat Canton 18-3 and topped Athens 10-4 to reach the title game and eliminate the host Wildcats.
Up next for ST is the Regional tournament where they’ll face the winner between the District 12 and 13 champs on Wednesday, back in Athens.
