
TIOGA COUNTY — The increased number of three .. and even four .. sport athletes in our area and the impressive, year-long performances put forth by them has forced our All-Tioga County ’Super 7’ Athletes of the Year list to become the ‘Elite 8’ a year ago, and now has been increased to become our ’Nifty Nine’.
At the top of the list is North Penn-Liberty junior Luke Kreger, who went from gaining All-State honors in football in the Fall to qualifying for the State Track & Field meet this Spring .. sandwiched around a league and District 4 title as a member of the North Penn-Liberty boys basketball team in the Winter.
The All-Tioga County Football Offensive Player of the Year, Kreger caught an astounding 60 passes for 1,188 yards and 10 touchdowns for the North Penn-Mansfield Panthers. The junior also had 60 yards rushing and was the Panthers’ kick and punt returner.
Kreger was a vital part of the Mounties’ first-ever District 4 basketball title and was named First Team All-Tioga County Basketball after scoring 12.2 points per game with 34 three pointers and adding 6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and nearly 3 steals per game.
Kreger was a consistent threat on the track throughout the spring season, competing in sprints and on the Tigers’ 4x100m relay team while qualifying for the State Championships in the high jump by placing 2nd at Districts and was 5th at the NTL meet.

Cooper Shaw, North Penn-Mansfield, sr.
Football — Was the All-Tioga County Football Player of the Year; 1,639 yards passing (105-233), 15 TD’s, 693 yards rushing (185 carries), 9 TD’s, 62 tackles, 2 interceptions, one sack;
Basketball — All-Tioga County Basketball Player of the Year; averaged 15.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals and a blocked shot per game, 37 three-pointers, finished just 59 points shy of 1,000, grabbed 558 career rebounds and made 134 career three pointers.
Baseball — All-Tioga County Baseball First Team, hit .449, .512 OBP, 31 H, 8 2b, 3 HR, 26 RBI, 30 R, 9 SB; Pitching .. 4-2, 2.87 ERA, 39 IP, 43 K
Ryder Bowen, Wellsboro, sr.
Football — All-Tioga County Defensive Player of the Year collected 73 tackles and 2 sacks on the year, had 195 carries for 1,059 yds, 9 TD, 15 rec., 87 yds., 1 TD.
Wrestling — All-Tioga County Wrestling ‘Super 7’, went 32-8, winning Wellsboro’s first Sectional title since 2017, placed 4th at Districts to give the Hornets their first Regional qualifier since 2013, placed 6th at Regionals.
Baseball — second team All-Tioga County, hit .276 with a .442 OBP, 16 H, 1 2b, 1 3b, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 21 R, 11 BB.
Andy Hermansen, North Penn-Mansfield, jr.
Golf — All-Tioga County Golfer of the Year, finished 3rd in the NTL with a 79.36 avg., a low rd. of 71 and was a State Qualifier.
Basketball — All-Tioga County Basketball second team, scored 6.9 ppg with 3.3 rpg, 3 apg, 1.6 spg, 22 3’s, 84% FT.
Baseball — Second team All-Tioga County, hit .403 with a .500 OBP, 25 H, 6 2b, 2 3b, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 20 R, 11 BB, 9 SB
Hunter Simonds, Cowanesque Valley, jr.
Cross Country, CV — All-Tioga County XC team, 3rd highest finish of West runners at NTL meet; placed 9th at Districts; qualified for States, finished 111th.
Wrestling, Williamson — honorable mention All-Tioga County, 32-12, 2nd at Sectionals, 7th at Districts, Regional qualifier.
Baseball, CV — Second team All-Tioga County, hit .239, .386 OBP, 11 H, 9 RBI, 10 R, 9 BB, 2 SB
Alex Davis, North Penn-Mansfield, sr.
Golf — First team All-Tioga County, 13th in NTL, 89.63 avg., low rd. 78, D4 Qualifier;
Basketball — All-Tioga County Basketball first team, averaged 9.4 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 steals, 3.4 rebounds per game, 20 three-pointers, 13 games in double-digit scoring, 14 games with 5+ assists.
Baseball — The All-Tioga County Baseball Player of the Year, hit .516 and got on base at a .580 clip with 33 base hits, including four home runs and seven doubles, 34 RBI, 37 runs scored and 22 stolen bases while drawing 12 walks; Pitching .. 5-1 record and a 1.73 ERA over 29 innings of work with 31 strikeouts.

Golf — 9th best Tioga County average, 97, low round of 89.

Baseball — First team All-Tioga County, hit .400 , .436 OBP, 28 H, 7 2b, 3 HR, 23 RBI, 27 R, 6 SB.
Brady Stetter, North Penn-Mansfield, sr.
Soccer, NP-Liberty — First team All-Tioga County, 16 goals, 9 assists, 50 career goal scorer.
Basketball — Second team All-Tioga County, 8.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, .8 bpg.
Track & Field — 5th in 110m hurdles, 6th in 300m hurdles, 9th in long jump at NTL’s, consistent point earner in shot put.
