
TIOGA COUNTY — As we are just days away from the start of the 2025 Fall sports season, let’s take a final look back at the Top 20 highlights of the 2024-’25 sports year in the West.
Just Outside the Top 20 ..
* Williamson Girls Soccer
Head Coach Felicia Hackett led the veteran Lady Warriors to a 12-6 record and into the D IV playoffs in her first season at the helm.
* CV Football Beats NP-Mansfield in Week 9 for 4th Win
Cowanesque Valley took a 17-0 lead and stifled a North Penn-Mansfield second half comeback attempt to earn a 23-15 win over the host Panthers in Week 9 .. the first win for the Indians against the Panthers in quite some time.

Wellsboro Wrestling
Head Coach Bryce Bitner enjoyed a historic season in both boys and girls wrestling.
Senior Ryder Bowen became Wellsboro’s first North Section champ since 2017 and the Hornets’ first Regional qualifier since 2013.
In the girls’ wrestling team’s inaugural season, Bitner took six wrestlers to Districts and qualified one .. Jordyn Rumsey .. to Regionals with two others .. freshman Isla Twoey and senior Megan Robbins .. coming up just shy.

North Penn-Mansfield Boys Basketball 20-Win Season
The Tigers went 15-2 in the NTL .. with both losses coming to District champ Troy .. and finished 21-6 on the year.

Williamson Volleyball Makes Strides in ’24
The Williamson volleyball team went 12-4 in the regular season .. with a win over large school champ Troy, a loss to District 4 2A champ Wellsboro and two losses to Class A champ NEB .. and beat perennial-powerhouse North Penn-Liberty in the first round of the District 4 Class 2A playoffs.
