TOP 20 HIGHLIGHTS OF 2024-'25 IN THE WEST .. No.'s 4 — 2 (2025-08-09) Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — As we are just days away from the start of the 2025 Fall sports season, let’s take a final look back at the Top 20 highlights of the 2024-’25 sports year here in the West. No. 4 CV Baseball Wins District 4 Class A Title Cowanesque Valley won the NTL small school title and then took the Class A District 4 crown with wins over Benton and St. John Neumann. Head Coach Jamie St. Peter and the Indians finished the season 16-5 after winning a first round State playoff game and then falling to the eventual PIAA ‘A’ champ. _____ No. 3 NP-Liberty Boys Basketball Wins District 4 ‘A’ Championship Head Coach Bear Mattison led the Mounties to a small school title and beat Millville, Bucktail and Lourdes Regional to win the District 4 Class A championship. _____ No. 2 Wellsboro Volleyball Claims District 4 2A Title The Lady Hornets went 12-2 in the NTL, falling only to league champ Troy twice, before getting a third shot at the Trojans in the District 4 2A final where they came out on top 3-2 to win their first championship since 2015 .. when Head Coach Darci Pollack was a senior. _____ |
