Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — North Penn-Mansfield finished fourth and went 4-3 at the NTL league opener on Monday at Towanda Country Club.
The Tigers shot an overall score of 367, behind Towanda (323), Wellsboro (355) and Athens (358) while beating Cowanesque Valley (387), Wyalusing (396), Canton (418) and Sayre (595).
Two-time State qualifier Andy Hermansen led the way for NP-Mansfield with an 83, good for fifth place overall. The senior shot a 39 .. tied for low score on the front nine .. and a 44 on the back with 11 pars on the day.
Alex Kalamaris had two birdies and six pars to finish ninth overall with an 86, while Colin Oakes and Ray Nickerson each shot a 99, Benton Zay had a 106 and Layne Cummings carded a 115.
The Tigers will be back in action Thursday at River Valley in Westfield.
