100% you should be supporting the businesses that give money to the field or court your kids play on. No question. And kudos to those businesses for supporting our local athletes in that way. 

Here comes the ‘but’ .. 

BUT .. getting lost in the mix of all of the support is the lone, free, daily media outlet that provides your kids with the coverage and recognition that they so richly deserve while they're playing on those courts and fields. 

In other words .. there is a huge lack of advertising from local businesses when it comes to supporting the Northern Tier West Sports Report.

As a part of ‘The Sports Report’ family of websites, the Northern Tier West Sports Report has been providing coverage of local, Tioga County athletics for nearly five years. There is no charge to visit the website, and we don’t make any money from the schools for providing coverage. We rely SOLELY on local businesses paying for advertisements on the site. 

I personally couldn’t be more appreciative for the businesses that have chosen to spend part of their tax-deductible marketing budget by advertising on our site .. they're all around the page you're reading right now .. PLEASE make it a point to thank them by patronizing their business. Each of them has shown their commitment to local athletes, and to helping those athletes get the recognition they need and deserve. 

They also get a fairly large ‘bang’ for their buck! Our ads link directly to the business’ page of their wish, they pay WAY less to be on our site than it costs to advertise on radio or billboards and their ad is seen 186,000+ times PER MONTH! 

One of the problems the Northern Tier West Sports Report is facing is .. the number of businesses that have chosen to support our efforts is WAY shorter than it should be, especially considering the incredibly large number of possible supporters in all of Tioga County. Because we don’t charge as much as other media outlets, we need a higher volume of willing supporters to advertise. 

The bottom line .. we need more businesses and companies to advertise on Northern Tier WEST Sports Report. It doesn't matter what 'business' .. big, small, retail, restaurant, factory .. they all have marketing (advertising) budgets and they all could spend a part of that budget by supporting both your kids and the people who are recognizing your kids.

While thanks and kudos from our readers are truly appreciated, I don’t think a large number of people realize what is at stake .. daily, free coverage of your kids games and events, that is not available through any other outlet. Not to mention the exposure .. that is very hard to come by in our area .. that our athletes will miss out on. It’s an undeniable fact .. college coaches read the Sports Reports and routinely contact us concerning local athletes. 

And let’s be honest .. the only other daily coverage our local athletes get isn’t daily. They may cover a playoff game involving one of our teams here and there, but they aren’t coming to a random Tuesday night volleyball game in Wellsboro, a Friday night game in Blossburg, a golf match in Westfield  or any games in Williamson or Liberty.

So, again, the Northern Tier West Sports Report needs help. 

Business owners, please give us a chance to show you what we can offer as far as advertising on the site. It’s great that you support local leagues, if you do, by getting signage put up on a field or in a gym. And buying advertising on the radio has been a staple of local businesses forever .. we can’t ‘compete’ with that and don’t want to .. but if you’d give us a chance to show you how far of a reach we have and the impressive number of views your linked ad would receive on our site, we believe you’d be surprised by how much more affordable our options are. 

Big companies/factories .. we could benefit you as well. While your company may not necessarily NEED to advertise your product or services locally .. you DO need to hire people. And we reach a lot of them!
