Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — The Wellsboro and Cowanesque Valley golf teams took on Towanda Monday, with the Hornets going 1-1 and the Indians dropping both head-to-head matches.
Towanda shot a 9-hole 153 to beat both Wellsboro (176) and CV (191).
Syler Pietrzyk led Wellsboro with a 38 while Chase Shultz had a 44, Ben Jackson and Logan Johnson each shot a 48, Sam Jackson had a 49 and Kiernan Whitsell carded a 57.
For CV, Danny Smith shot a 41 while Lucas Hamilton had a 47, Ashtyn Burdick shot a 50, Brent Watkins had a 53, Katie Huzey had a 55 and Logan Gray had a 76.
Wellsboro (16-7) is scheduled to return to action next Wednesday when they host Athens and North Penn-Mansfield at Tyoga, while CV (8-17) hosts Canton and Wyalusing at River Valley, also next Wednesday.
