
WELLSBORO — The Hornets opened their 2025 season at home on Monday and earned a 3-1 win over Jersey Shore.
Jonathan Carl opened the game’s scoring with a header off a Gabe Cuneo corner kick less than a minute into the game, then found the net again at the 26:30 mark of the first half to give Wellsboro a 2-0 lead.
David Seeling scored the Hornets’ final goal, unassisted.
Both teams had seven shots on goal and five corner kicks, while Hornet keeper Camden Tom recorded five saves.
Wellsboro (1-0) is at Galeton on Wednesday.
