
SAYRE — North Penn-Liberty opened their season at Sayre on Tuesday and earned a straight set win over the Lady Redskins.
The Lady Mounties won 25-18, 25-23 and 25-17.
Senior middle Haley Litzelman led the way for Liberty with five aces, two assists, five kills, two blocks and eight digs, while senior outside hitter Kameron Lightner added nine kills and three digs.
Junior setter Madison Smith had three aces, eight assists, three kills and 10 digs while junior setter Elaina Shaw had an ace, nine assists, a kill and six digs. Sophomore libero Maddie McNamara had 10 digs, junior middle Kendall Graham had three kills and a dig, junior outside hitter Claire Dominick had three kills and two digs, junior outside hitter Gabby Bubeck had one kill and junior right side Reagan Kurzejewski had a dig.
The Mounties’ Junior Varsity team also won in straight sets (25-9) (25-12).
North Penn-Liberty (1-0) is scheduled to return to the court on Thursday when they host Wyalusing.
