Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — Williamson scored a first-half goal and held off Wellsboro to earn a 1-0 win in NTL girls soccer action here Saturday.
The Lady Warriors scored when Maddy Bailey’s corner kick rebounded off Hornet keeper Jadyn Dunlap’s save to Anna Lee and Lee found Star Ordway, who found the net with the eventual game-winner.
Williamson out shot the Hornets 17-10 with Dunlap collecting 14 saves and Williamson keeper Addy Lanzo making seven stops.
“We took advantage of long balls on the wet turf today,” said Williamson Head Coach Felicia Hackett, “We were only able to squeak one ball past Wellsboro’s amazing goal keeper and our defense locked in today to keep our goal keeper safe.”
Williamson returns to play at home on Monday when they host Hughesville.
