NTL BOYS SOCCER: HORNETS SETTLE FOR SCORELESS TIE WITH ATHENS (2025-09-27)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
ATHENS — Wellsboro earned a clean sheet against Athens Saturday, but would have to settle for a 0-0 draw as the Wildcats also blanked the Hornets.

“Our keeper and backline did a great job keeping the ball out of our net,” said Hornets’ Head Coach Todd Fitch following the tie, “and we had a couple scoring opportunities, but couldn’t find the finishing touch. I’m proud of the boys determination and effort to execute the things we’ve worked on and the adjustments we made throughout the match.”

Athens held a 6-5 edge in shots-on-goal and a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks. Keeper Camden Tom made six saves in goal for Wellsboro.

The Hornets (9-3-1) are next scheduled to host Galeton on Wednesday.
