
ROCHESTER, NY — The Wellsboro cross country teams had a pair of top-10 finishes in the boys’ race and Lauren Kosek placed 11th in the highly competitive Premier girls’ run at the 60th McQuaid Invitational on Saturday.
Kosek’s time of 17:20.6 in the Bob Bradley Premier Girls’ 3-mile race was good for 11th place among 178 runners. The winning time was 16:31.2 and the top three finishers all ran a sub-17 minute three miles.
In the Boys’ Varsity A-1 (small schools) 3-mile race, Henry Whitney (15:56.6) finished 5th while teammate Max Macias (16:06.0) placed 8th among the 384 runners to lead the Hornets to a 17th place team finish.
Taitt Webster (19:19.0) was 186th, Ethan Geneski (19:23.2) was 189th and Austin DeShazo (23:41.0) was 367th.
In the Girls’ Varsity A-1 (small schools) 3-miler, Kaci Kosek (22:21.4) finished 121st out of 319 runners. Sophia Yoder (23:35.9) was 180th, Molly Tice (24:55.6) was 235th, Luisa Crocco (26:29.2) was 283rd and Anja Przybycien (28:41.3) was 315th.
