Northern Tier West Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Cowanesque Valley hosted a cross country quad-meet here Tuesday where the Lady Indians went 2-1 and the boys finished 0-3.
The girls beat North Penn-Mansfield 22-33 and edged NEB 27-28 while falling to Wellsboro, 27-29.
Freshman Maddison Fay (22:08) was CV’s top finisher, placing 4th overall, followed by freshman Lainey Hackett (22:39) in 6th place, sophomore Natalie Yonker (23:05) in 7th, freshman Kendra Miles in 14th place and freshman Lyla Thompson (33:07) in 17th place.
In the boys’ race, CV fell 19-39 to North Penn-Mansfield, 16-43 to NEB and 23-33 to Wellsboro.
Senior Hunter Simonds (19:00) placed 6th for the Indians while senior Judah Mummert (21:22) was 16th, sophomore Isaiah Fuhrer (22:45) was 21st and senior Carsyn Kemp (24:02) finished 24th.
