Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — An Athens goal on a penalty shot less than six minutes into the game would hold up as Wellsboro fell to the visiting Wildcats, 1-0.
The Lady Hornets were out shot 11-5 by Athens and the Wildcats had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Hornet keeper Jadyn Dunlap made 11 saves in goal for Wellsboro, who came into the game on a three game winning streak and fall to 9-5 on the season with the loss.
Wellsboro will return to play on Thursday at home against Wyalusing (8-6), who the Hornets beat 2-1 two weeks ago.
