Athens out shot Mansfield 13-6 but Wilcox made hers count, scoring her first goal off an assist from Adalyne Yungwirth and netting the insurance goal on a Laurel Morgan helper. 

“The team really pulled it together tonight and played with a lot of grit,” said Head Coach Maryann Wilcox following the win, “We didn’t have many attempts shooting the ball, but we capitalized on our opportunities.”

Keeper Avalon Rew earned the clean sheet with 13 saves in net for the Lady Tigers.

“Our defense played well tonight,” said Coach Wilcox, “forcing Athens to take most of their shots from a distance which gave our keeper time to track and make the saves.”

North Penn-Mansfield, now 6-6 on the season, travels to Sullivan County (4-7) on Saturday.
