Northern Tier West Sports ReportATHENS — Wellsboro dropped their first set to Athens here Thursday before rallying to take three straight and earn a 3-1 win over the host Lady Wildcats.
Athens won the first set 27-25 and the Lady Hornets won the next three convincingly .. 25-11, 25-13 and 25-18.
Peyton Keane had 19 service points, 16 digs and 10 kills for the Lady Hornets while Blake Eckart added 13 points, with five aces, 16 digs and 11 kills.
Ady Frantz had 15 kills and two blocks, Maddy Cruttenden had 27 digs, Taylor Main had 20 assists, Kendall Sweet had 12 points with four aces and Ellie Largey had 12 assists.
Wellsboro improves to 12-2 on the season with the win. They’re scheduled to host Northeast Bradford (0-9) on Tuesday.
