HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER: LADY HORNETS EDGED BY LOYALSOCK (2025-10-11)

WELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets tied their match up with Loyalsock in the second half but would fall to the Lady Lancers 3-2 in non-league girls’ soccer play here Saturday.

Loyalsock scored two first-half goals, one at 30:22 and the other with 17:21 remaining before the break.

Luna Moyer got the Lady Hornets on the scoreboard off a direct kick with 12:51 remaining in the first half and it was 2-1 Loyalsock at the break.

Haylie Smith scored with 11:52 left to play to tie the game up, but Loyalsock hit the game-winner with 4:49 to go.

Wellsboro was out shot 12-5 by Loyalsock and the Lady Lancers had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Keeper Jadyn Dunlap made nine saves in goal for the Hornets.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 10-6-1 overall. The team is back in action for the final time in the regular season on Thursday against Muncy.
