Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — North Penn-Mansfield opened their 2025-’26 boys’ basketball season at St. John Neumann Friday night and used balanced scoring and seven three-pointers to earn a 61-47 win.
Jason Harer (17) and Andy Hermansen (14) combined for 31 points while Collin Oakes, Patrick Youmans and Layne Cummings each added eight points in the win. Hermansen and Cummings each hit a pair of long balls while Oakes, Youmans and Harer each had one.
The Tigers took a 14-11 lead after one quarter and a 25-20 advantage into the locker rooms. A big 20-12 third frame opened the game up and a 16-15 NP-Mansfield fourth provided the final.
Keaton Manikowski and Kevin Clemente-Vazquez rounded out the Tigers’ scoring with two points each.
North Penn-Mansfield (1-0) returns to action Wednesday when they visit North Penn-Liberty.
