Northern Tier West Sports ReportTROY — Cowanesque Valley played their league opener at Troy on Wednesday night, returning with a 67-34 loss to the defending NTL champion Trojans.
Troy took an 18-9 lead after the opening quarter and extended their lead to 37-20 at the break. A 22-9 third quarter for the Trojans pushed the lead to 59-29 and an 8-5 Troy fourth provided the final.
Ashtyn Burdick led CV with 13 points and added five assists and four steals. Josh Teague and Parker Lee had seven points each and Teague had six rebounds, Levi Stahli had three points and five assists while Carsyn Kemp and Reed Vargeson chipped in with two points each.
The Indians (0-2) return to action Monday when they host Austin.
