Wellsboro led 12-6 after the opening quarter and extended their lead to 26-13 at the halftime break. 

Kate Bryant hit three 3-pointers in the first half and Lily Wagner had eight of her game-high 14 to lead the Hornets. Bryant finished with 11 points in the game and added three steals while Wagner had four steals and three rebounds. 

After a 9-6 third quarter in favor of Wellsboro, Sayre took the fourth frame 8-7 to provide the final score.

Ady Frantz scored nine points in the win and added five rebounds and five steals while Kya Lawton had four points and seven rebounds and Reese Regina had two points.

Wellsboro (1-2) is scheduled to return to play on Wednesday, at Williamson.
