NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: MOUNTIES FALL TO ATHENS (2025-12-16)

ATHENS — North Penn-Liberty couldn’t keep up with Athens and fell 63-45 in an NTL crossover boys’ basketball match-up here Tuesday.

The host Wildcats took a 17-9 lead after the first quarter before Liberty rallied behind six Conner Lewis points and four from Luke Kreger to cut the halftime deficit to 29-22.

Kreger finished with 19 points and added I’ve rebounds, three steals and two assists while Lewis had six points, 12 rebounds and three steals. 

Athens increased their lead to 49-37 after the third quarter and finished with a 14-8 fourth to seal the win. 

Landon Mattern had 10 points in the loss while Evan McTish had six points and five rebounds and Sudan Benner and Brody Grinnell had two points each with Benner grabbing six boards.

Now 1-2 on the season, North Penn-Liberty is at Towanda on Thursday.
