Northern Tier West Sports ReportCANTON — North Penn-Mansfield was held to five first half points and couldn’t catch up to the host Canton Lady Warriors, falling 36-28 in an NTL crossover match-up here Monday.
Canton led just 4-2 after the first quarter and went up 15-5 at the break. Elaina Shaw hit three 3-pointers in a 13-9 NPM third quarter to cut the lead to 24-18 but the host Warriors matched Mansfield’s 10 point fourth to seal the win.
Shaw led the Tigers with 12 points and added six rebounds, while Maddy McNamara scored eight points and had four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Julia Kaczynski had five points and three rebounds, Addi Lehman had two points, two rebounds and a steal and Kameron Lightner scored one point and had 14 rebounds and four blocks.
North Penn-Mansfield (2-2) is next scheduled to play in the Josh Palmer Christmas Tournament on Saturday at Thomas Edison (NY).
