HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: NPL MOUNTIES ROLL TO CONSOLATION WIN OVER MEADOWBROOK AT KIWANIS TOURNEY (2025-12-30)

LIBERTY — The host Mounties cruised to a 50-24 win over Meadowbrook in the Kiwanis Christmas Tournament consolation game, snapping a four game losing streak.

North Penn-Liberty jumped out to a 19-9 lead in the first quarter behind seven points from Evan McTish, six Conner Lewis points and 3-pointers from Brody Grinnell and Landon Mattern.

McTish scored five more points in the second quarter and Mattern hit another three while the Mounties held Meadowbrook scoreless and took a 30-9 lead into the halftime break. 

McTish finished with 17 points in the win and added seven rebounds while Mattern scored nine points and had three of the Mounties’ 16 steals in the win.

Luke Kreger scored seven points in the Mounties’ 17-4 third quarter and Liberty led 47-13 going into the final frame.

Conner Lewis finished with eight points for NPL and grabbed five boards while Kreger had seven points, six steals, five assists and four rebounds. Brody Grinnell had five points, three steals and two assists, Sudan Benner had three points and Ayden Phommavong rounded out the Mounties’ scoring with one point.

North Penn-Liberty (2-4) is scheduled to return to action on Saturday when they visit Northeast Bradford.
