Northern Tier West Sports ReportCANTON — The host Lady Warriors used a big third quarter to erase a North Penn-Liberty halftime lead and down the Lady Mounties 43-35 in the Canton Christmas Tournament final here Tuesday.
Haley Litzelman followed up her 37-point effort in Monday’s first round win over Galeton with a game high 24 points in the loss and added eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Litzelman scored five first quarter points to help the Lady Mounties to an 11-7 lead and hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the second frame as NPL took a 22-18 lead into the break.
Canton stormed back in the third quarter and led 33-26 going into the fourth and held the Mounties off with a 10-9 final quarter to earn the title.
Kendall Graham added seven points for Liberty, while Scarlett Graham scored two points and had two rebounds and three steals and Serena Boiywo scored two points and had five rebounds.
Litzelman was named to the All-Tournament Team.
