Northern Tier West Sports ReportCANTON — Williamson suffered a lopsided defeat to Canton, falling 53-17 in an NTL small school girls’ basketball match-up here Wednesday evening.
Canton led 17-3 after the first quarter, went into the locker rooms with a 36-12 advantage and held Williamson scoreless in the third quarter to go up 45-12.
Laila Hackett led Williamson with five points while Kenna Thomas and Olivia Nolan had four each, Leann Kessing had three points and Jocelyn Colegrove scored one point.
Williamson drops back below .500 with the loss at 5-6 and is scheduled to return to play Friday at home with Northeast Bradford.
