Northern Tier West Sports ReportLIBERTY — The Mounties won their fourth straight game .. and eighth in their last nine .. here Monday, downing Benton 52-27 in a non-league, Class A match-up.
Conner Lewis led North Penn-Liberty with a double-double of 12 points and 19 rebounds and added two blocked shots in the win.
The Mounties led 13-8 after the first quarter and 29-13 at halftime. A 21-5 third quarter bumped their lead to 50-18 and a 9-2 Benton fourth provided the final.
Landon Mattern scored 11 points and had four assists and two blocks while Luke Kreger had nine points, five boards and three steals. Sudan Benner and Evan McTish each scored eight points and Brody Grinnell had four points and added four steals.
NPL (9-5) is scheduled to host Wellsboro on Wednesday.
