Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Tied at halftime and down one after three quarters, Wellsboro fell 64-57 to Saint John Neumann in a non-league boys’ basketball match-up here Monday.
The Hornets took a 12-10 lead on the host Knights after a quarter of play and were tied at 28-all at the break. A 16-15 SJN third led to a 20-14 advantage for the Knights in the final frame and the win.
Colin Fletcher led the Hornets with 19 points in the loss, while Gideon Lawton added 13 points.
Griffin Morral had 11 points and added five rebounds and two assists, while Luke Rothermel had eight points, eight rebounds and four assists, Jonathan Carl had four points, six boards and four steals and Marek Mascho had two points.
Wellsboro (6-7) returns to action Wednesday at North Penn-Liberty.
