Wednesday’s dual meet started at 107 pounds with the best match of the night, where Williamson’s Walker Hyde came back from an 8-0 deficit to tie his match with Canton’s Levi Vermilya at 11-all and earn the sudden victory with a takedown in the extra period. 

Zander Wilson received a forfeit at 114 pounds and Williamson led 9-0 after two matches. Xander Stafford earned a 15-0 tech fall at 121, followed by Kolton Putt’s 27 second pin at 127 pounds and the host Warriors led 20-0.

Hunter Simonds earned a 12-0 major decision at 133 pounds and Kohen Vandelinder earned a 17-2 tech fall at 139 pounds to make it 29-0 Williamson.

Canton ran off three straight wins .. a tech fall at 145 and falls at 152 and 160 .. to cut Williamson’s lead to 29-17 before Stevie Olson stopped the Canton run with a pin in 3:48 at 172 pounds. Two more Canton falls .. at 189 and 215 .. made it 35-29 Williamson. Luke Sottolano closed out the win for the host Warriors with a forfeit at 285 to provide the 41-29 final.

Williamson advances to face No. 3 seed Montoursville on Saturday at Milton.
