Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — North Penn-Liberty built a 30-plus point lead and rolled to a 72-40 mercy-rule win over the host Williamson Warriors in NTL boys’ basketball action here Wednesday.
The Mounties took a 31-6 lead after the first quarter of play behind 12 points from Luke Kreger, seven from Conner Lewis and six by Evan McTish.
McTish and Silas Boiywo led NPL to a 22-11 second frame as each netted seven points and the Mouties went up 53-17 at the break.
Williamson edged Liberty 15-14 in the third as AJ Hargarther scored nine points in the frame and an 8-5 Warrior fourth provided the final.
McTish had a double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds while Kreger scored 17 and added four assists and four steals.
Lewis finished with nine points, 10 boards and four steals while Boiywo had seven points, Landon Mattern had six, Brody Grinnell, Sudan Benner and Ayden Phommavong had two points each and Kaiden Mowery had one point.
Hargarther led Williamson with 11 points while Michael Cruz had eight points, Ayden Silvernail had six points, Shae Davis had five, Kayden Moon and Owen Cilino had four points each and Jayden Owen had two points.
North Penn-Liberty (13-8) has one regular season game remaining, Friday against Canton. Williamson (4-17) wraps up their season Friday at Cowanesque Valley.
