NTL BASEBALL: WILLIAMSON BEATS SAYRE FOR FIRST WIN (2026-03-26)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Williamson earned their first win of the season, holding off a late Sayre rally to win 7-4 over the Redskins in NTL baseball action here Thursday.

The Warriors jumped out to a 6-0 lead with a run in the first inning, two in the second and three in the third. After a scoreless fourth, Sayre plated four runs in the top of the fifth. Williamson tacked on a run in the bottom of the fifth and shut the Redskins down in the final two frames to get the win.

Williamson had five hits in the win, as Spencer VanDelinder (1 RBI), Kohen VanDelinder (1 R), Weston Copp (1 R), Owen Cilino and Landyn Carlin (1 RBI) each had a single. Alex Watson and Ayden Silvernail each had an RBI, Maddox Hartman scored two runs and Carter Tubbs scored once.

Kohen Vandelinder got the win for the Warriors, throwing five innings and allowing four unearned runs on five base hits and five walks with four strikeouts. Silvernail pitched two-thirds of an inning and walked three and Spencer VanDelinder closed out the win with an inning and a third on the mound with one K.

Williamson (1-1) is scheduled to return to action Tuesday when they host Cowanesque Valley.
