Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — The Wellsboro Track & Field teams competed at Mansfield University’s Molly Dry Invitational on Thursday, where the Lady Hornets finished 2nd and the boys were third.
The girls scored 150.5 points, behind only Invite champ Corning (215) and ahead of Jersey Shore (127), Montgomery (72), Campell-Savona (64), Waverly (47.5), South Williamsport (32) and Sullivan County (19).
Lauren Kosek won both the 800m (2:33.36) and the 1600m (5:06.03) and was 2nd in the 3200m (12:22.70).
Piper Hoprich won the 100m (12.58) and 200m (26.10) dashes and joined with teammates Sophia Yoder, Dillyn Patt and Luna Moyer to win the 4x100m relay (51.14).
Isla Twoey won the 300m hurdles (50.80), was 3rd in the triple jump (32-6.25) and 4th in the long jump (14-2.50).
Lauren Gehman was 3rd in the long jump (14-4.25) and 4th in both the high jump (4-6) and the triple jump (31-6.25), while Luna Moyer was 3rd in the 100m (13.34) .. with Sophia Yoder placing 6th (13.79) .. and Anja Przybycien placed 3rd in the 2000m Steeplechase (11:05.47) where Lily Wagner was 6th (12:32.19), Evelyn Wetherbee was 7th (12:32.28) and Joelle Bull was 8th (12:33.77).
Elise Largey placed 4th in the pole vault (7-0) and Megan Mosher was 5th (7-0), Sienna Zengerle was 5th in the javelin (85-11.25), Olivia Gage was 6th in the high jump (4-6) and Kristina Belz was 6th in the long jump (13-8.75).
Olive Twoey was 7th in the 300m hurdles (54.37), Taylor Main was 7th in the javelin (78-8.25), Ella Boyce was 8th in the triple jump (28-3) and Kaci Kosek was 8th in the 800m (2:52.92).
The boys had two event winners .. Jude Cuneo in the 800m (2:06.02) and David Seeling in the high jump (5-11) .. and scored 103 points, behind champ Bradford (219) and Corning (166.5) and ahead of Jersey Shore (81.5), South Williamsport (41), Waverly (37), Montgomery (32), Sullivan County (30) and Campbell-Savona (18).
Seeling was 2nd in the 300m hurdles (42.86) and 4th in the 110m hurdles (17.54) while Jonathan Carl was 2nd in both the 200m (23.91) and the triple jump (42-4.50).
Ransom Schultz was 3rd in the javelin (141-7) and 8th in the shot put (37-8.25), Henry Whitney was 3rd in the 1600m (4:34.56), Brayden Benjamin was 4th in the long jump (18-2.25) and 6th in both the 110m hurdles (17.82) and the triple jump (37-1.50) and Jacoby Strang was 5th in the 100m dash (12.13).
In the 2000m steeplechase, Henry Nowak was 5th (9:29.14), Max Macias was 6th (9:29.31) and Ethan Geneski was 7th (9:30.61), Liam Stevens was 6th in the long jump (17-10.75)Macias was 8th in the 1600m (5:02.16) and Desmun Hennigan was 8th in the triple jump (35-5).
