Northern Tier West Sports ReportELKLAND — Williamson was one-hit by Athens and lost their first game of the season, falling 5-0 to the visiting Lady Wildcats in NTL softball play here Thursday.
Athens scored a run in the second inning and two runs in each of the fifth and seventh frames to get the win. Kenna Thomas threw a complete game to take the loss, giving up 11 hits and striking out five while walking none.
Alexis Sprague had the Lady Warriors’ lone base hit.
Williamson (4-1) returns to action Friday when they host Troy.
