Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — The visiting Athens Wildcats used a pair of big innings to take down Williamson 14-2 in an NTL baseball match-up here Thursday.
Athens scored seven runs in the second inning, added two runs in the third, one in the fourth and four in the sixth while the Warriors’ two runs came in the bottom of the fourth.
Five Williamson pitchers combined to give up nine Athens’ base hits, while the Warriors had three on the day .. one each by Spencer VanDelinder (1 rbi), Maddox Hartman (1 run) and Harlow Little (1 run).
Williamson (1-4) is scheduled to return to play Saturday at Wyalusing.
