Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — North Penn-Liberty pounded out 21 base hits and Haley Litzelman threw a two-hit shutout as the Lady Mounties topped Sayre 10-0 in NTL softball action here Saturday.
Litzelman went all six innings for NPL to get the win, walking four Sayre batters and striking out 13. The senior led the way for the Mounties at the plate as well, collecting a double, a single and a third inning, two-run home run while driving in five runs and scoring twice.
Julia Kaczyński had four hits in the win, including a double, and scored four times, while Maddie McNamara had three base hits and an RBI.
Kameron Lightner (2b, 1 rbi, 1 run), Claire Dominick (1 rbi), Maddy Smith (1 run), Elyna Booth (1 run) and Addie Lehman (1 run) each had two base hits and Elaina Shaw rounded out the Mounties’ offensive attack with a base hit.
With their fifth straight win, Liberty is now 6-2 on the season. They’re scheduled to next host Wyalusing, on Wednesday.
