Northern Tier West Sports ReportCANTON — Cowanesque Valley cruised to a 17-1, five inning win over the host Lady Warriors in NTL small school softball play here Thursday.
The Lady Indians scored five runs in the first inning .. highlighted by a leadoff home run by Zeraya Wilson on the second pitch of the game .. and added four runs in the third inning, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth and final frame.
Ariana Cary had three base hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored, Emma Carl had two hits, with a double and three RBI, Lilah LaBarron had two hits and scored two runs and Taylor Eldridge had two hits and four runs scored.
Wilson added two RBI and three runs scored to her homer, Natalie Grab had a hit and two runs scored, Braelynn Balada had a double, three RBI and two runs scored, Raegan Watson had an RBI and scored twice and Bella Mascho scored once.
Carl pitched all five innings, allowing one earned run on five base hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
CV (5-4) is scheduled to return to action on Saturday when they host Sayre.
