Northern Tier West Sports ReportBATH, NY — Williamson went 1-1 at the Haverling Slugfest softball tournament, falling 3-2 to the hosts on Friday and topping Addison 9-2 on Saturday.
In Friday’s game, Haverling scored three first-inning runs and made the lead hold up as Williamson scored their pair in the second frame and both teams went scoreless the rest of the way.
Pitcher Olivia Gee went all six innings for Williamson, allowing three runs (1 earned) on three Haverling base hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
The Lady Warriors had three hits in the loss as well, as Lexi Smalley, Kenna Thomas and Jocelyn Colegrove all had a single. Alexis Sprague and McKenzie Adriance scored Williamson’s runs.
In the Warriors’ 9-2 win over Addison on Saturday, winning pitcher Kenna Thomas went seven innings and struck out nine .. including the 300th K of the senior hurler’s career .. while allowing two earned runs on 10 base hits.
Colegrove collected three base hits in the win, with a double, three RBI and two runs scored. Gee had a triple, a double, an RBI and a run scored, Smalley had two hits with a double, two RBI and two runs, Thomas, Laila Hackett and Aubree Roe each singled and scored a run and Ashlyn Wells scored once.
Williamson (6-4) is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday at Sayre.
