Northern Tier West Sports ReportLOCK HAVEN — The Wellsboro Track & Field teams collected a number of medals at the LHU High School Classic on Friday, led by event winners Piper Hoprich and Lauren Kosek.
The Lady Hornets placed 7th as a team with 41 points. Hoprich won both the 100m (12.24) and 200m (25.09) dashes while Kosek broke her own school record in winning the 1600m run (4:59.47).
Luna Moyer placed 5th in the 100m (12.98) while the 4x100m relay was 3rd (50.04) and the 4x800m relay was 8th (12:27.00).
Isla Twoey was 9th in the 300m hurdles (49.06) and 11th in the triple jump (33-04.50), Katherine Whitney was 11th in the discus (74-02.50) and Kristina Belz was 12th in the long jump (15-07.00) and in the triple jump (32-11.00).
The boys scored 17 points to finish 14th, led by David Seeling’s runner-up finish in the high jump (6-02).
The 4x800m relay team placed 4th (8:18.96), the 4x100m relay was 9th (45.99) and the 4x400m relay was 11th (3:44.92).
Henry Whitney placed 7th in the 3200m run (9:52.66), Jonathan Carl was 8th in the triple jump (40-07.00) and 9th in the 200m dash (23.51), Jude Cuneo was 8th in the 800m (2:01.92) and Brayden Benjamin was 12th in the 110m hurdles (17.19).
