NTL BASEBALL: TIGERS FALL TO ATHENS (2026-04-28)

MANSFIELD — The Tigers fell behind Athens early and went on to lose 19-7 to the Wildcats in an NTL Large School baseball match-up here Tuesday.

Athens scored four runs in the first inning and North Penn-Mansfield answered with a run in the bottom of the first. The Wildcats added a run in the second inning, five runs in the third and seven in the fourth to go up 17-1.

The Tigers rallied for six runs in the fourth inning and Athens scored their final two runs in the top of the fifth.

Andy Hermansen (2b, 1 run) and Brock Dietrick (1 rbi, 1 run) had two base hits each while Adam Wilson (2b, 1 rbi, 1 run), Jason Harer (1 run), Ryder Breon (2 rbi) and Isaac Sparks (1 rbi) had one hit each. 

Luke Bryan had an RBI and Collin Oakes, Rydder Beck and Jackson Raught each scored.

Mansfield used six pitchers in the loss who combined to allow 11 base hits, walk 14 and strike out four.

North Penn-Mansfield (3-9) is scheduled to visit Northeast Bradford next Tuesday.
