Northern Tier West Sports ReportSAYRE — Cowanesque Valley used big 6th and 7th innings to rout the host Redskins 16-2 in NTL baseball action Tuesday.
Sayre went up 1-0 in the first inning and held the lead until CV tied it up in the top of the 4th. The Redskins retook the lead with a run in the bottom of the 5th before the Indians plated nine runs in the 6th and six in the 7th to provide the final.
Ayren Morgan (2b, 2 rbi, 3 runs) and Dave Hess (2b, 3 rbi, 3 runs) had three base hits each while Lucas Hamilton (HR, 2 rbi, 2 runs) had two and Levi Stahli (2b, 2 rbi), Cam Stahli (1 rbi, 2 runs) and William Kies had one hit each.
Hunter Simonds and Brody Bruce had an RBI and a run scored each and Gavin Churchill scored.
Hess started and went three and two-third innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits with three strikeouts. Cam Stahli pitched two-thirds of an inning and gave up one earned run on two hits and a walk with one K, Morgan threw one and two-third innings with two strikeouts and Levi Stahli threw one inning and allowed two hits while striking out one.
CV (14-1) is scheduled to return to play on Thursday at Athens.
